Big Changes Coming for DIY EV Charger Installs

The 2026 National Electrical Code (NEC) is set to introduce a game-changing update: DIY installation of EV chargers may no longer be permitted. The proposed revision will require Level 2 EV chargers to be hardwired into a dedicated circuit, effectively banning plug-in models that homeowners often install themselves.

This shift is all about safety and compliance, ensuring electric vehicle charging setups are installed to professional standards. But it also means homeowners will need Licensed Electricians ( a handy-man does not qualify ) to complete even basic installs as we advance.

At DaiTechCorp, we’re ready. Our licensed team ensures every installation is code-compliant, future-proof, and done right the first time.
